Economic contribution for the support and care of dependants (Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme)

Those enrolled in the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme may claim a financial contribution to supplement the income support for dependent persons.

The contribution is due for registered pensioners who are dependent on others and with a complete and permanent incapacity to work.

In particular, to be eligible for the contribution, the applicant must be recognised by the medical commissions as:

  • invalid with a complete and permanent incapacity to work (100%) and unable to walk without the permanent help of a carer;
  • invalid with a complete and permanent incapacity to work (100%) and with the need for continuous assistance, unable to perform acts in everyday life;
  • invalid and over sixty-five years old, with persistent difficulties in carrying out the functions and duties that someone of their age should be able to do, with a severe difficulty level of 100%;
  • totally blind persons;
  • partially blind persons with a residual sight of no more than one twentieth in both eyes with possible correction.

Start date and duration

It is an annual and repeatable contribution.

What am I entitled to?

The contribution varies between €1,550 and €6,200. The amount is reduced by half for dependants who live in specialised structures.

The contribution is calculated according to the bracket to which the individual belongs, as illustrated in the table.

The possible corrective score (-1 ISEE bracket where there is another registered individual in the holder’s family) does not apply for ISEE incomes equal to or greater than € 40,000.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for the contribution, the applicant must be recognised by the medical commissions as having a complete and permanent inability to work.

When can I claim?

The claim may also be submitted multiple times, with a 12 month interval. The claim for this contribution is an alternative to the health contribution.

It is necessary to send or deliver any documentation claimed by INPS within 30 days, otherwise the submitted claim will be rejected.
