Publication: 24/05/2022

The INPS hosts students, from compulsory education until university, either in own boarding schools or in other boarding schools and colleges that are affiliated with the Ministry of Education, University and Research.

Boarding schools (even in a half-board option) shall admit students of the first and second educational cycle, children of civil servants and of pensioners in the public administration who are registered with the Unified Scheme of Credit and Social Benefits, of pensioners who are users of the Civil Servants’ Pension Scheme, of those registered with the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme and of those registered with the IPOST Fund Scheme.

University colleges shall admit children of civil servants and of pensioners in the public administration who are registered with the Unified Scheme of Credit and Social Benefits, of pensioners who are users of the Civil Servants’ Pension Scheme, of those registered with the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme and of those registered with the IPOST Fund Scheme.

START DATE AND DURATION

Each year, students may apply for available places attending the boarding school call for tender or the call for tender for university colleges.

The victorious student shall remain in the boarding school for the whole duration of their studies and, if they are a university student, until their thesis discussion.

Tenders and rankings can be found in the Tender and Credit Notice and Welfare section.

WHAT AM I ENTITLED TO?

Affiliated boarding schools and colleges exist throughout the whole country and provide food, accommodation and a range of services described in the forms attached to the call for tender.

The range of services the INPS offers to children in boarding schools of its own is equally wide and includes educational workshops, excursions, sports and leisure activities, socio-educational and psychological assistance, board and lodging.

The following boarding schools are owned by the INPS and can also accommodate university students:

  • Convitto Santa Caterina - Arezzo;
  • Convitto Principe di Piemonte - Anagni (Frosinone);
  • Convitto Luigi Sturzo - Caltagirone (Catania);
  • Convitto Regina Elena - Sansepolcro (Arezzo);
  • Convitto di Spoleto (Perugia).

WITHDRAWAL OF BENEFIT

The student shall lose their entitlement due to serious causes, changes in the legal position of the registered parent or loss of the requirements called for in the tender.

REQUIREMENTS

Tenders shall indicate, on a case-by-case basis, the requirements and academic performance required. All winners shall contribute towards the costs incurred by the INPS with an annual contribution, the amount of which shall vary based on the value of the ISEE index.

WHEN CAN I CLAIM?

The claim must be submitted, within the time limits laid down in the call for tender, by the registered or retired parent (as holder/applicant), by the surviving parent or guardian (as applicant) or by the student of legal age at the date of submission (as applicant/beneficiary).

For tenders for university colleges, the claim is allowed only to the student of legal age.

HOW CAN I CLAIM?

There are four calls for tenders:

  • National boarding schools;
  • Owned boarding schools;
  • University colleges “di merito” (for students with excellent results);
  • Owned university colleges.

The claim in order to participate in the call for tenders for National Boarding Schools must be submitted by using the simplified “Domande welfare in un click” [Welfare Claims in a click] service, available from “Accedi al servizio” [Access the service”]. After logging in with their login details, the users will simply need to indicate their willingness to participate in the tender. The choice of boarding school is not required at this stage, but must be indicated once the ranking of contribution winners has been published.

The claim to participate in other call for tenders must be submitted using the “Gestione dipendenti pubblici: servizi per Lavoratori e Pensionati” [Civil Servants’ Pension Scheme: services for Workers and Pensioners] service, which is also available via “Accedi al servizio” [Access the service”]. After logging in with their login details, the users will be able to view the list of services by alphabetical order, theme area or type of service. Once the “Domanda Convitti o Collegi” [Boarding school or College Claim] is selected, there is a brief information document and some fields to be completed.

In case of particular difficulties encountered during the digital claim submission that are unrelated to problems concerning the login details or regular registration in the database, the applicant may submit the claim by telephoning the Contact Centre on +39 803 164 (free from Italian landlines) or +39 06 164 164 from mobile phones.
