How to view the relevant income used by the Institute for verifying the right to and extent of income-related benefits

Publication: 5 August 2025

What is it

The RED Consultant service is used to view the relevant income used by INPS to verify the right and the extent of income-related benefits provisionally disbursed in advance.

Who is it aimed at

The service is aimed at pensioners holding income-related benefits, involved in the RED Campaigns for residents in Italy, who can use it:

  • directly by accessing the "MyINPS" personal section;
  • by granting a digital patronage mandate to a Patronage Institute.

How does it work

Pensioners are obliged to declare their relevant income to INPS each year on income-related benefits provisionally provided by the Institute in advance. In the cases provided for by law, they must also declare the relevant income of the spouse and the members of the family unit.

INPS circular no. 195 of 30 November 2015 (in Italian) identifies:

  • the parties obliged to declare the relevant income on the related benefits;
  • the cases in which the income of the benefit holder and/or those of the spouse or family members is relevant.

Message no. 4023 of 5 October 2016 (in Italian) specifies the relevant income for each benefit linked to income.

The Institution must verify the income relevant for the purposes of the right and the extent of the income-related benefits provisionally disbursed in advance.

After verification, there may be variations (debit or credit adjustments) with respect to the amounts disbursed.

To view the relevant income used by the Institute for verification purposes, the RED Consultant online service is available.

Pensioners can access the service via the MyINPS personal area.

Starting with income relevant for the 2022 tax year, the service provides the relevant information used, broken down by type of data source and by influencing individual.

A virtual assistant (chatbot) is available, able to support the user thanks to artificial intelligence.

Alternatively, the pensioner can make use of the services offered by the patronage institutes, which must be authorised to view the service exclusively by means of a digitally signed advocacy mandate.

The service for the preparation of the digital mandate and the signature of the same with FEA INPS, based on the SPID/CIE digital identity that the citizen must therefore have, is available to the patronage institutes as part of the "Intermediary platform of individual benefits", referred to in message no. 4684 of 28 December 2023 (selecting the "Consultancy" area).
