Post Sanatorium Allowance (IPS) for tuberculosis disease

This is an allowance which can be claimed from the day following the date of full clinical recovery or stabilisation, provided that the patient received at least 60 days of care and absence from work; This benefit can be claimed even if entitled to entire pay.

The benefit is due to the insured, their family members, pensioners or annuity holders or their families and certain categories of civil servants.

Start date and duration

The allowance starts from the day following the date of reaching clinical improvement or stabilisation of the disease and is paid for 24 months. It remains suspended in the event of a new hospitalisation or outpatient home care for less than 60 days and is interrupted in the event of hospitalisation or outpatient treatment for more than 60 days. In this case, the beneficiary receiving assistance is entitled to a new IPS (Post Sanatorium Allowance) grant for a period of 24 months.

What am I entitled to?

The IPS is due to insureds in a fixed amount, established annually by ministerial decree, and their families reduced by half.

Withdrawal of benefit

The IPS is forfeited in the event of voluntary abandonment of care without a justified reason.
